Michigan EGLE – New Hazardous Waste Rules Effective August 3, 2020

Quick reminder that these rules have changed and some minor adjustments are needed in how you manage and label your waste.

On July 27, 2020, amendments to the rules promulgated under Part 111, Hazardous Waste Management, of Michigan’s Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451, as amended (Part 111), were filed with the Michigan Department of State, Office of the Great Seal. The rules become effective on August 3, 2020.

The GIR significantly restructured the generator rules to make it easier to determine the requirements that apply to each type of generator and include provisions for episodic events and large quantity generator consolidation of certain wastes.
